Hidush-IP is always looking to work with clients who understand the value of a well-written patent with strong and enforceable claims. Feel free to drop us a line if this is the kind of service you’re looking for.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and now based in Israel, Jonathan worked for the IP law firm Korakh & Co. (based in Tel-Aviv, Israel) for over twenty years, having started as an intern and eventually becoming head of the firm’s patent department before founding Hidush-IP. Jonathan brings with him extensive experience in patent searching, patent drafting and prosecution as well as patent oppositions, having worked with budding inventors as well large companies such as MKS Instruments, Olympus and Elbit Systems. Jonathan has prosecuted patents in a wide range of diverse technologies and has worked closely with foreign associates from the four corners of the globe, including the United States of America, Canada, Europe, Israel, Russia, Japan, China, Australia, Singapore, Korea, India, South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina to secure intellectual property rights.
With an undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in physics and computer science, as well as a graduate degree (M.A.) from the Hebrew University (Jerusalem, Israel) in education, Jonathan combines his abilities to think abstractly and understand complex ideas and technologies with his abilities to translate those ideas and technologies into strong and well-written patents that at once provide broad protection while also remaining enforceable. Having also taken courses in chemistry and biology in university, Jonathan has written patent applications in a wide range of fields including medical devices, solar panel technology, laser systems, telecommunications, defense systems, crystal growth, applied mathematics, software as well as construction devices and systems.
Whereas Jonathan is a licensed patent attorney in Israel and thus deals directly only with the ILPO, he works with established and respected IP firms the world over to help clients get the protection they want for their intellectual property according to their patent portfolio strategy. Being fluent in English, Français (French) and עברית (Hebrew) Jonathan can provide IP services in your mother tongue, whether locally in Israel or abroad.

The firm’s name ‘Hidush’ (חידוש) comes from the Hebrew word for novelty, one of the main legal requirements for obtaining a patent. Even though Ecclesiastes 1:9 emphatically declares “and there is nothing new under the sun”, our ever-changing world keeps presenting us with new problems that require new solutions, thus constantly providing further opportunities for patent protection!
